that i haven’t gotten my typical sunday womp yet. gonna spend the afternoon at the pool reading some feminist lit about writing women into the history of librarianship. actually pretty excited in spite of the fact that i’d rather be reading some trashy fiction.
also gotta get some shopping done, andypantz is turning 26 next weekend! world market, here i come. you better have some delicious porters.
i also need to track down some powerful sunscreen for bonnaroo. and a big floppy hat. and some tacky sunglasses (obviously).

and this mess is getting me all kinds of hot and bothered. the soccer moms who pushed this bit of literary tragedy/genius to bestseller status know what’s up.
in other news, i got some spotty sunburn at the pool this afternoon. there’s something glorious about it. first sunburn of the season—a yearly rite of passage for us gingers.
Bon Iver puts on his one good suit and shines up his shoes. I wear my finest silk and a hairpin of ivory. We sneak into the abandoned church down the road and promise ourselves to each other forever. He notices a tear roll down my cheek and hands me a handkerchief embroidered with a single bluebird. Back at the cabin, we slow dance to his old 45s and drink gin fizzes and speak in hopeful, hushed tones about the future. ‘No matter what happens, you’ll always be my little radish blossom, and I your artichoke,’ he says.
and then i bought some earrings with tuggle bunnies on them.
I just squealed out loud. I actually feel sick I’m so excited to see it!!!!!!!
